Meet the Staff

Rod Anderson

Church Council Member at Large
Hometown: I was born in Honululu, Hawaii, raised in the San Fernando Valley. We now reside in Woodbridge, Irvine. Family Info: Married to Caroline for 47 years, two sons, Curt and Jeff and 4 awesome grandkids. How did you become a part of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church? We moved into Irvine in September 2009 from Westminster, CA. We became a part of Good Shepherd because of its strong Bible foundation and its people, staff and members. What is your role? My role is to do God’s work on the GSLC Church Council. To represent the membership of the congregation, but most importantly to listen to God. My role is to be an active member of the council and to participate and contribute in a manner worthy of the position. What is your favorite part about your role? The ability to work with a fine staff of pastors, and great council members. To rejoice with God’s work within us, to tackle the difficult issues, and to serve God’s will, not ours.
Fun Stuff
If you were an animal what would you be? What's the greatest invention in the last 50 years? What is your favorite place on earth? In my wood shop building things for my bride and kids. Also in my Model A driving through Woodbridge and seeing young people look and say “what in the world is tha?” What makes you laugh? Many things make me laugh, Caroline, my son’s, the cute and sometimes unexpected things my grandkids do and say. If you could have any super-power what would it be?
