Scott Eaton

Congregational President
Hometown: I grew up in Northridge California / I currently live in Mission Viejo Family Info: Wife Karen and 2 Children, both grown and out of the house (no boomerang kids here) Kiersten and Timothy How did you become a part of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church? As a young family new to Orange County we looked for a Church that could help us pass our faith on to our Children while challenging us to grow in our own faith. We found that and so very much more at Good Shepherd. What is your role? As the Congregational President I preside over the Church Council and act as a standing member on all ministries and committees. It is my objective to help the Church leadership focus on our long range strategic goals in ways that fulfill our vision statement as a Church and Jesus Great Commission. What is your favorite part about your role? It has been a challenging 3 years for our Church Council dealing with issues that define our Lutheran faith and the future direction of our Congregation. Our walk as a Council has been rewarding and I look forward to how these new foundations will define Good Shepherd in the years to come.
Fun Stuff
If you were an animal what would you be? What's the greatest invention in the last 50 years? What is your favorite place on earth? On the back of my boat somewhere between Catalina and the mainland with my feet propped up, a drink in my hand watching the sun set… Ahhhhhh….. What makes you laugh? Politics, anything associated with Jimmy Buffett, my wife Karen, my dog Murphy and anyone who says on a warm summer evening they prefer Red wine over a cold beer… If you could have any super-power what would it be?
