Learning to Read the DNA of the Bible
This year our Lenten Series will focus on learning the two themes that flow throughout scripture. By discovering these two themes you will learn how to unlock the meaning of scripture like never before. These two great themes that weave through scripture like two strands of DNA are: Covenant & Kingdom
Sound too complicated? Other terms for Covenant and Kingdom in the Bible are “Relationship & Responsibility” or “Being & Doing.”
These two themes start in the book of Genesis and are woven throughout Biblical History -- all the way to the book of Revelation and the future inbreaking of the Kingdom of God. Throughout the Bible we see that:
- God has provided a way for us to be restored to a personal relationship of love with him (Covenant).
- God has invited us to participate in seeing his will accomplished in human history (Kingdom).
If we can learn to read the DNA of the Bible (as Pastor & Educator Mike Breen describes it), then we can actually turn to ANY page of the Bible and UNDERSTAND what it means!
Join us Sunday mornings in February and March, and at our Lenten Evening services (7:15 pm. Feb. 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24), as we learn how God desires relationship with us (Covenant) and our responsibility to be God’s ambassadors to the world (Kingdom).
