Serve

Serving Christ through Serving our Neighbor...

Our lives are created to serve God and others as a response to the incarnation: the Good News that through God has come to us in baptism with the gift of forgiveness and new life. We have been saved. We have been rescued. We have Christ. It’s all awesome news.

Our response to that is to be curious about how God can use us to support the body of believers in their Christian lives and growth in the Gospel. What can I do? How can I be used to help others? Good questions.

Here at Good Shepherd we’ve developed a Servant Profile to help you express ways that the body of Christ (the church) may be able to use your unique gifts. By clicking on the “begin” button below, you will be able to fill out and share your talents, skills, interests, and the way you’re wired so we can talk with you about how God can use you in our ministry to glorify him and give you the awesome opportunity to serve. You may also download a print version of the Servant Profile.

We have also developed a Ministry Guide to provide more information on the different servant opportunities in the church. Our “Wired To Serve” team (Kandy Parsons, Dlorah Dahl, and Caroline Anderson) has developed job descriptions for every need in the congregation, and has described over 100 ways people can serve. You may download a print version of the Ministry Guide, but the descriptions are also contained within this online Servant Profile tool. As time goes on we’re going to be more intentional about being “wired to serve” and will look forward to serving God together in this place!

Our goal is to create easy “onramps” for service in the church! See you in church!
